1. Q: Why does it take a long time to load Mind Your Finances? A: Mind Your Finances is media rich, much more than other applications on the Web. In other words, there are a lot of audio and animation files contained within Mind Your Finances. These files tend to be large and therefore require more time to download. Download times are also greatly affected by traffic on the Internet and Modem speed. If you are using an older Modem (less than 56kps), you will notice longer than average download times. Back to Top
2. Q: Why does the sound sometimes seem to echo? A: In an effort to minimize download times; the Mind Your Finances audio files have been compressed. This compression reduces file size and therefore download times but a side affect is the sound will sometimes seem to echo. We at Mind Your Finances have done our best to balance download times (file size) and sound quality (echo). Back to Top
3. Q: Why do I need to install the Macromedia Flash plug in? A: The Macromedia Flash plug in is a player commonly downloaded and "plugged in" to Internet browsers to play audio and animation files. The audio and animation files within Mind Your Finances were developed using Macromedia Flash. If you have not already done so, you will only need to download the Macromedia Flash plug in one time. 4. Q: Why do I sometimes see the word "Loading" and a rolling compass? A: Mind Your Finances was developed to be media rich - it contains many audio and animation files which are downloaded per page of the WBT. These files tend to be large and therefore may take a while to download (depending on Internet traffic and Modem speed). Whenever a download is in process, you may see the word "Loading" and the rolling compass. This is just to let you know that a download is in process. Back to Top
5. Q: What speed Modem do I need to use Mind Your Finances? A: You can access the Mind Your Finances WBT using any speed Modem but we recommend a 56kps Modem or a Broadband connection (DSL, Cable Modem). Mind Your Finances is media rich and therefore many of the files are large. Better performance will be obtained using a 56kps Modem or Broadband connection. Back to Top

7. Q: What is the average download time for individual Mind Finances pages? A: Download times for Mind Your Finances pages will vary with Internet traffic and Modem speed. Using a 56kps modem, average download times are as follows: 50% of the pages will download in 10 seconds or less, 45% of the pages will download in 10 to 30 seconds, or 95% of the pages will download in 30 seconds or less.
